Punjab News: The Punjab government, in its ongoing efforts to propel the state towards developmental heights, has addressed the long-standing issue of contaminated water in Kotla Ala Singh village. Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema shared details of the initiative, highlighting the purchase of land from a private individual to resolve the water contamination problem.

- Responding to the villagers’ demand, the Punjab government, for the first time, acquired land worth 37 lakhs INR. The land was subsequently handed over to the Gram Panchayat, aiming to provide relief to the residents facing water scarcity.
- Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema emphasized that the government’s proactive step would bring substantial relief to the villagers. The acquired land, previously unavailable to the Gram Panchayat, will now be instrumental in implementing effective water management strategies.
- The minister expressed that the government’s initiative not only resolves the water crisis but also paves the way for the construction of a park on the acquired land, ensuring recreational spaces for children in the village.
Development in Rural Areas:
Harpal Singh Cheema highlighted the government’s commitment to comprehensive development in both urban and rural areas. A grant of 25 lakhs INR was announced for development projects in the village. This includes the installation of underground pipes for canal water supply, further enhancing the quality of life for the residents.
