Punjab News: Punjab government officials announced the rescue of 155 children as part of a special initiative to combat child labour across the state. The operation, led by Punjab Labour Minister Anmol Gagan Mann, took place from June 11 to 21 and involved joint teams from the labour and other line departments conducting surprise checks at street vendors and various outlets.

The minister emphasized that the primary goal of this initiative was to eradicate the menace of child labour. During the drive, 155 children were rescued from street vendors and business establishments. Special committees were established under the supervision of deputy commissioners to ensure the success of this mission.

Significant results were observed in key districts, with 99 children being freed from child labour in Ludhiana and 30 in Patiala. The joint teams conducted thorough inspections of industrial units and workplaces throughout the state, highlighting the government’s commitment to eliminating child exploitation.
Minister Anmol Gagan Mann reiterated the government’s dedication to protecting children’s rights and ensuring their access to education and a better future. This drive is part of a broader strategy to enforce child labour laws and provide rescued children with the necessary support and rehabilitation.
