Eight hockey players received ₹1 crore each, while 11 other athletes were given ₹15 lakh each. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab shared Singh’s remarks on their X (formerly Twitter) account, highlighting the government’s commendable approach to supporting and inspiring athletes. They wrote, “The Punjab government is honoring athletes, boosting their morale, and inspiring future generations. The foresight and policies of the AAP government are praiseworthy for actively promoting sports.”
