This initiative aims to provide students with a platform to develop leadership qualities and understand democratic processes.

Punjab News– In a pioneering move to nurture leadership skills among school children, Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney announced the introduction of ‘Bal Sansad,’ a children’s parliament, in government schools. This initiative aims to provide students with a platform to develop leadership qualities and understand democratic processes.

First District in Punjab

Ludhiana will be the first district in Punjab to implement the Bal Sansad program. This initiative aligns with the vision of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Education Minister Harjot Bains to enhance educational experiences and foster holistic development in students.

Objective and Implementation

The Bal Sansad initiative is designed to simulate a parliamentary system within the school environment, allowing students to engage in activities such as debates, discussions, and decision-making processes. This hands-on experience is expected to instill a sense of responsibility, enhance communication skills, and encourage active participation in community issues.

Support and Vision

DC Sakshi Sawhney emphasized the importance of this initiative in building future leaders. “Bal Sansad will empower our students by giving them a voice and an opportunity to lead. This will significantly contribute to their personal growth and civic understanding,” she said.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Education Minister Harjot Bains have expressed their support for the program, highlighting its potential to create a generation of informed and responsible citizens.

Future Prospects

Following its launch in Ludhiana, the Bal Sansad initiative may be expanded to other districts in Punjab, ensuring that more students benefit from this innovative educational approach.

With the implementation of Bal Sansad, Ludhiana is set to pave the way for a new era of student leadership and democratic engagement in Punjab’s educational landscape.
