Punjab News: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab is implementing a zero-tolerance policy against crime. The Punjab Police have made a huge breakthrough today with the arrest of an illegal arms dealer. Furthermore, four members of the notorious Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang have been apprehended by the Punjab Police, marking yet another noteworthy victory. A revolver, two pistols, a Glock 9mm firearm, and numerous live rounds were taken from the criminals by the police during the operation.
Punjab Police’s Major Action
The State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) of the Punjab Police conducted a major operation today, leading to the arrest of an individual involved in interstate organized arms trafficking. The SSOC revealed that the accused was supplying illegal weapons from Madhya Pradesh to Punjab, providing logistical support to various notorious gangs.
The SSOC is working to uncover the entire network by following both forward and backward linkages in this case. According to the information provided by the police, four illegal .32 bore pistols were seized from the accused.
Crackdown on Gangster Gangs
In a coordinated effort against organized crime, the Jalandhar Rural Police arrested four members of the notorious Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang during an intercity operation. According to the official X handle of the Punjab DGP, these four criminals were apprehended after a 70-kilometer chase along the Jalandhar-Batala highway.
Initial investigations by the police revealed that the operation was being orchestrated under the supervision of Aman, who resides in Germany. The operation aimed at smuggling illegal arms into Punjab. However, due to the police’s vigilance, all four accused involved in the smuggling attempt have been taken into custody. The police also recovered one revolver, two pistols, one Glock 9mm pistol, four live cartridges, and two vehicles from the accused.
