One of the key features of this initiative is the launch of a WhatsApp helpline, which will allow residents to report suspicious activities related to drug trafficking anonymously

Punjab News: The Punjab government has launched a new initiative to combat drug trafficking by establishing the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF). Modeled after the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), which was set up to tackle gangsters, this new force aims to intensify the crackdown on drug smugglers in the state.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is set to inaugurate the new ANTF office in Mohali on Wednesday. As part of this initiative, a dedicated WhatsApp helpline number will also be launched, enabling citizens to report drug-related activities directly to the authorities.

This move is part of the government’s broader strategy to curb the drug menace in Punjab, ensuring a safer and healthier environment for its citizens. The establishment of the ANTF reflects the government’s commitment to tackling the drug problem with renewed vigor and a focused approach.

Dedicated Team to Combat Drug Menace

The newly formed Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) will consist of specially trained officers with the sole focus of identifying, tracking, and dismantling drug trafficking networks operating in Punjab. The force will work closely with local law enforcement, intelligence agencies, and border security forces to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive approach to fighting drug-related crimes.

Citizen Involvement and Anonymous Reporting

One of the key features of this initiative is the launch of a WhatsApp helpline, which will allow residents to report suspicious activities related to drug trafficking anonymously. This step empowers the community to take an active role in the fight against drugs, ensuring that authorities receive timely and actionable information.
