Punjab News: In a significant victory against drug trafficking, Fazilka police have dismantled a major inter-state opium smuggling ring operating from Jharkhand. This operation marks the largest opium recovery in Punjab’s history.
Seizure and Arrests
The police seized a staggering 66 kilograms of opium and froze ₹1.86 crore spread across 42 bank accounts. Two smugglers were arrested during the operation, highlighting the extensive reach and financial backing of the smuggling network.
