Punjab News: Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Ensures Uninterrupted Supply of Ration under ‘Ghar Ghar Ration Yojana’

Punjab News– Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann reaffirmed on Friday that the state government will ensure an uninterrupted supply of ration to beneficiaries under the ‘Ghar Ghar Ration Yojana’. He dismissed rumors of any reduction in the public distribution system (PDS) as unfounded.

Chairing a meeting to review the scheme in Chandigarh, CM Mann addressed the misinformation spread by those with vested political interests, asserting that claims of a substantial reduction in ration distribution were “baseless and unwarranted.” He emphasized that all beneficiaries were receiving their full entitlements under the scheme.

CM Mann has requested reports from all deputy commissioners across the state to ensure the consistent delivery of benefits to the recipients. He expressed satisfaction with the distribution process, noting that ration was being provided to 1.54 crore beneficiaries through 40.19 lakh ration cards via Model Fair Price Shops (MFPS) established across Punjab.

The Chief Minister highlighted the scheme’s goal of providing smooth and hassle-free ration delivery to the people, contrasting it with past practices where beneficiaries faced significant inconvenience. “Gone are the days when people had to face a lot of inconvenience for getting the foodgrains under the National Food Security Act by waiting in long queues,” Mann remarked. He lamented that people previously endured undue harassment and had to skip their daily work or wait during odd hours to receive their rations.

The ‘Ghar Ghar Ration Yojana’ aims to eliminate these issues by ensuring a more efficient and dignified distribution process. Mann’s assurance comes as a relief to the beneficiaries, reinforcing the government’s commitment to maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of the public distribution system in Punjab.
