The event commenced with a lively walkathon led by students wearing yellow turbans, symbolizing unity and purpose. The procession moved from the four gates of the walled city to the Darbar Sahib, where a solemn ‘ardas’ (prayer) was offered. Following the prayer, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) distributed prasad (blessed food) to the participants.

The “Hope Initiative,” driven by a resolute commitment to make Punjab drug-free by August 15 next year, represents a holistic approach adopted by the state administration. As part of this initiative, the Amritsar police have planned gully cricket competitions from October 15 to November 9. These matches aim to inspire the youth and discourage them from falling into drug addiction.
