Punjab News: The much-anticipated third season of Punjab’s sports extravaganza, ‘Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan 2024,’ is set to kick off soon. The grand event will begin on August 29, coinciding with National Sports Day, celebrated across the country to honor the birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand.

The inaugural ceremony will take place at the War Heroes Stadium in Sangrur, marking the start of this prestigious sports event. On this occasion, the official T-shirt and logo of ‘Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan’ were launched, symbolizing the spirit and enthusiasm of the upcoming games.

37 Sports Disciplines and Massive Cash Prizes

This year’s edition of ‘Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan’ will feature competitions across 37 sports disciplines, spanning nine age categories. The event promises to be a significant platform for athletes, with over ₹9 crore in cash prizes set to be distributed among the winners. This substantial prize pool underscores the state government’s commitment to promoting sports and encouraging youth participation.
