Punjab News: Ram Devotion Sparks Merchandise Frenzy in Punjab Ahead of Pran Pratishtha Ceremony

With the Pran Pratishtha (consecration) of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya just hours away, devotees in Punjab are flocking to shops to secure merchandise adorned with the name of Ram. Streets are now dotted with saffron flags featuring images of Lord Ram and the upcoming temple in Uttar Pradesh, creating a vibrant display of devotion.

Shopkeeper Tarun Bharti in Amritsar expressed surprise at the unexpected demand, stating that while they anticipated the popularity of Ram idols, diyas, and small Hindu flags, customers are now eager to purchase anything associated with the name of Ram. The market is experiencing a surge in Ram-themed religious merchandise, ranging from flags and cutouts to badges, lockets, and saffron scarves.

Amidst this merchandise frenzy, ‘Jai Sri Ram’ slogans and images of Lord Ram adorn a variety of products flooding both retail and wholesale markets in the city. It’s not limited to a particular religious community, as people across different affiliations proudly display Ram flags on their shops and personal vehicles.

Suppliers are reportedly running out of stock

Trader Rajiv Kapoor revealed that about 200 local shops are actively selling these Ram-themed items. Anticipating the growing demand, Kapoor strategically procured the merchandise from suppliers in Delhi and Ludhiana two weeks ago. However, due to the soaring interest, even these suppliers are reportedly running out of stock, indicating the widespread enthusiasm and fervor for Ram-related merchandise in the region.
