Punjab News: Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain of Mohali has announced a toll exemption for all vehicles registered in the name of Divyang (persons with disabilities) on national highways in Punjab. Under the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988, vehicles owned by Divyang individuals will be entirely exempted from toll charges. The exemption applies to both new and existing vehicles, and Divyang persons can register their vehicles with the transport department to avail of this benefit.

Special Exemption Process:
To facilitate toll exemption, Divyang individuals are required to obtain a special exempted FASTag. They can register their new or existing vehicles through the transport department. The online registration process for the special exempted FASTag is available on the official website: https://exemptedfastag.nhai.org/exemptedfastag/. After submitting the online form, the competent authority will issue the exempted special FASTag, which must be affixed to the Divyang person’s vehicle.
