Punjab Police’s Special Operation: Key Operative of Bambiha Gang Apprehended

The Punjab Police’s State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) based in Mohali has successfully apprehended a crucial member of the notorious Bambiha gang. The operation resulted in the seizure of a .30-bore pistol along with four live cartridges from the individual’s possession.

The individual who has been arrested is identified as Simranjit Singh, aged 25, hailing from Walio village situated in Samrala, Ludhiana. He has been involved in multiple criminal cases and had been sought in connection with a murder case registered at the Samrala police station.

Acting on a reliable tip-off regarding the whereabouts of the suspect, teams from SSOC, Mohali, initiated a specialized operation to apprehend him. This operation was carried out with the intention of intercepting the suspect while he was en route to deliver a shipment of weapons to an accomplice.

Initial investigations have brought to light that the arrested individual had been operating under the guidance of Jaswinder Singh, another prominent member of the Bambiha gang.

The ongoing investigation is continuing to gather more information and details. A legal case has been filed against the suspect under Sections 25, 25(7), 25(8), and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the SSOC-Mohali police station.
