Punjab to recruite 1,800 constables, 300 sub-inspectors every year

The Punjab cabinet has approved the recruitment of 1,800 constables in the state every year. Several important decisions were taken in the meeting of the Punjab cabinet on Monday. After the meeting was over, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that now 1,800 constables and 300 sub-inspectors will be recruited in Punjab every year.

This recruitment process will be completed within one year from the date of notification. Cheema informed that a schedule has been issued for police recruitment. According to this every year there will be physical examination from 15th September to 30th September. The youth will get time to maintain physical fitness, so that they can get opportunities in Punjab Police and other forces of the country.

Recruitment will be done on 710 vacant posts of Patwari

Minister Harpal Cheema said that recruitment will also be done on 710 vacant posts of Mal Patwari for the youths who want to get government job after making name in education. These posts were lying vacant for a long time. Its approval has been given in the cabinet meeting on Monday.

Recruitment on 203 posts of NCC


Cabinet Minister Harpal Cheema said that the recruitment process in NCC, which has been closed for many years, is also being started. 203 vacant posts will be filled in NCC, so that school and higher education students can become a part of this national organization by keeping themselves fit. Cheema said that the recruitment process had stopped in many units in Punjab. For this reason, in the cabinet meeting, approval has been given for recruitment in all these units.

Amendment in Drain Section-1878


Minister Harpal Cheema informed that irrigation water is being used for other purposes. Due to this, the state government has to bear a loss of Rs 186 crore. For this reason, amendment has been made in Section-36 of the Drain Act-1878 in the cabinet meeting in view of the prevention of non-irrigation means. Apart from irrigation, under the crusher policy, additional time of six months has also been given to the contractors running the crushers to fill the revenue. With this, they will be able to fill the revenue by feeling relief without sudden pressure.
