Punjab Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave alert for several states in northern and central India, including Punjab, as temperatures are expected to soar in the coming days. The IMD forecast indicates that Punjab, along with Haryana, Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha, will experience heatwave conditions on June 3.
IMD Issues Heatwave Alert for Punjab and Other States
Specifically for Punjab, the IMD has predicted heatwave conditions to persist until June 4. The weather agency has also forecasted similar conditions for Haryana and Delhi, with isolated pockets in Jammu and Kashmir expected to face heatwave conditions during the same period.
Uttar Pradesh is set to experience heatwave conditions until June 5, while Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh will face intense heat on June 3. Odisha is expected to endure heatwave conditions until June 4, with Jharkhand facing similar conditions from June 4 to June 6, and further heatwave conditions predicted for Haryana and Delhi on June 5.
However, there is some relief in sight for Punjab, as the latest weather updates indicate the possibility of rain in parts of the state. The anticipated rainfall may provide some respite from the intense heat and help mitigate the impact of the ongoing heatwave conditions.
Residents are advised to take necessary precautions to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during peak hours. The IMD continues to monitor the situation and will provide updates as necessary to ensure public safety.
