A resolution has been passed by the Punjab Assembly on Tuesday against the Center not releasing the Rural Development Fee (RDF fund). During this, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann lashed out in a loud voice against the Congress party and Governor Banwari Lal Purohit regarding the Rural Development Fee.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today threatened to go to the Supreme Court against the Centre if the latter failed to release the state’s share of the Rural Development Fund.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said “The Center has posted one person as governor in all the states. If he does not create ruckus with the Chief Minister or does not write any letter, then he gets a call that you are not working.”
During this, showing the “love letter” written to him by the Governor of Punjab, he said that “he keeps writing and keeps asking answers to many questions. We have replied to the letters sent by the Governor. It is the responsibility of the Governor of Punjab and he should raise his voice and ask for RDF funds. He takes the side of Haryana on the issue of Panjab University.”
After this CM Mann said “The Governor does not allow any scheme of funds to come to us. If we get our funds, we will brighten our mandis and roads. There are many funds that have been frozen.”
He also said that “when the opposition does not have an answer, it walks out.” After this, targeting the Center, he said, “What if Punjab stops the crop once, what will they do? They don’t have grains for ‘PDS’, but Punjab has a big heart, even for animals”.
