Rajasthan CM Gehlot attacks Union Minister Shekhawat over Sanjeevani credit fraud case, meets victims

Sanjeevani credit fraud case: Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Monday met the victims of the Sanjeevani credit fraud case. The meeting took place on Sunday after the Rajasthan CM attacked Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat for his alleged connection in the case. In Sanjeevani credit fraud case, many investors lost Rs 900 crore in 2019.

Ashok Gehlot accused Union Minister Shekhawat 

Ashok Gehlot on Sunday attacked Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and his wife Naunand Kanwar among his other family members for being involved in the Sanjeevani Cooperative credit fraud case. 

Meanwhile, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat claimed that Ashok Gehlot’s accusations has caused him mental trauma. He claimed that Gehlot has accused his deceased mother of fraud. In response to his accusations, Shekhawat has filed a defamation case against the Rajasthan Chief Minister in the Rouse Avenue court in Delhi. Ashok Gehlot, replying to the defamation case, has said that he welcomes the suit.

“We welcome the defamation case as that would mean that the scam case will be talked about,” Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said.

Ashok Gehlot meets victims of the fraud 

An official release from the chief minister’s said that the victims, who came from different districts of the state, shared the chief minister about the cheating of their money and also addressed him about their rapidly deteriorating financial condition.

The chief minister assured the victims of justifiable action even if it means to change the law at the state government level.

“I am sorry to hear of your pain. If there is a need to change the law at the state government level, it will be done. Sanjivani Credit Cooperative Society has embezzled the hard earned money of thousands of people,” the CM said.
