Rajasthan News: For the Ajmer, Tonk, and Chauth Ka Barwada Rail Project, the Central Government has sanctioned a budget of Rs 100 crore one lakh for railway operations. Since independence, there has been a persistent desire for Tonk and Railways, and every Lok Sabha and Assembly election has raised issues related to the Railways. However, it took 77 years after independence for the railway ambition to come true.

There is a festive mood among the public now that the Railways section of the interim budget for 2024 has been announced. Sukhbir Singh Jaunapuriya declared, “The nation’s prime minister has provided a guarantee.” The Railway Minister has allocated Rs 100 crore 1 lakh for the rail connection of Tonk. Tonk can now realise his goal of having a rail connection.
Acknowledgment of Struggle
‘We have struggled for rail on every front from roads to highways and today Tonk’s train dream has been achieved,’ stated Akbar Khan, head of Rail Lao Sangharsh Samiti. The 165 kilometre railway line connecting Ajmer, Tonk, and Chauth ka Barwada will soon begin construction.
Appeal from Sachin Pilot
However, CM Bhajanlal Sharma has received a letter from Sachin Pilot, the former deputy chief minister of Rajasthan. Pilot has requested a new railway line on the Sawai Madhopur-Tonk and Ajmer route in his letter. In his letter, Sachin Pilot requested that efforts be made to begin the unfinished project as soon as possible.
