A group of villagers in Rajasthan’s Jalore district allegedly caught a man who had come to meet a girl, tied him to a tree, thrashed him and also forced him to drink urine. The police gave this information on Tuesday. Police have detained six people after the video of the attack was circulated on social media. They have also booked the person under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.
According to the police, the victim had allegedly come to meet a girl in a nearby village on Sunday night. The villagers and the family members of the girl caught hold of him and tied him to a tree and beat him badly.
He told that on getting the information, the family members of the person also reached the spot and pleaded with the crowd to release him, but the villagers forced the person to drink urine before leaving after giving a warning.
Jalore Superintendent of Police (SP) Harshvardhan Agarwal said that a video of the incident was circulating on social media on Monday.
Aggarwal told that the girl whom the person had gone to meet, has also filed a case against him under the POCSO Act. He said that after recording the statement of the girl, further investigation would be started.
