The years old demand of new districts and divisions in Rajasthan has been fulfilled. The Ashok Gehlot government of Rajasthan has announced the formation of 19 new districts and 3 divisions in the state on 17 March 2023. There is a wave of happiness among the people due to the creation of new districts and divisions in Rajasthan. Now the total number of districts in Rajasthan has increased from 33 to 52 and the number of divisions has increased from 7 to 10.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot passed the third stage budget 2023 in the Rajasthan Assembly on Friday. During this, many announcements have been made including 19 new districts and 3 divisions. CM Gehlot said that we had received demands for the formation of some new districts in Rajasthan, on which the Ramlubhaya Committee was formed to examine the proposals. New districts and divisions have been announced on the basis of the final report of the committee.

With the creation of 19 new districts and 3 new divisions in Rajasthan, the geography of the state has changed. Now the distance of 19 places from the district headquarter has decreased, because till now these places which had subdivision and tehsil headquarter have become district itself. Assembly elections are also to be held in Rajasthan by the end of the year. The demand of the districts is being made for a long time. In the budget 2023 of his current tenure, CM Ashok Gehlot has made a big political bet by announcing 19 districts. Now it will be interesting to see whether the Congress government returns to power in the Rajasthan assembly elections 2023 on the basis of the announcement of these districts.
