In the election year, Rajasthan has got the gift of Vande Bharat train. PM Modi virtually flagged off the Ajmer-Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat Express from Delhi on Wednesday. At the same time, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot remained present at the Jaipur railway station during this period.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony of Vande Bharat Rail at Jaipur railway station, CM Gehlot said that railways have an important contribution in the social, cultural and economic development of the country.
The changes that have come in the Railways after independence are the result of the thinking of our great leaders and the hard work of the dedicated employees and officers of the Railways. Along with passenger and goods transport, Railways has also provided its important services in times of natural calamity and war in the country. On this occasion, CM Gehlot also placed many demands for Rajasthan from PM Modi.
Railway should be developed with priority in Rajasthan
CM Gehlot expressed happiness over getting Vande Bharat train to Rajasthan and also said that due to its geographically distinct identity, there is a great need for the development of railways in Rajasthan. He said that rapid industrial development has taken place in Rajasthan. For this reason, if the railway facilities increase here, the state will become a leader in the country from the point of view of economy.
Headquarters of Banswara, Tonk, Karauli should also be connected with railway facilities.
On this occasion, CM Gehlot said that Vande Bharat train is a big gift for Rajasthan. This is Rajasthan’s first semi high speed train, which will reduce the travel time between Jaipur and Delhi. The Chief Minister urged Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav present at the station to connect the headquarters of Banswara, Tonk, Karauli with railway facilities.
Dungarpur-Banswara-Ratlam project should be given top priority
The Chief Minister said that an MoU was signed between the Rajasthan Government and the Railway Board for rail service between Dungarpur-Banswara-Ratlam. The foundation stone of the railway line was also laid in Banswara. For the first time, 1250 crore rupees including land was given by any state government for a major rail project, but this work of public interest did not progress further. He urged to give priority to this project.
Jaisalmer-Barmer should be connected with Mundra and Kandla port
Congress leader Gehlot said that in view of the importance of international border and national security, there is a need to construct a new rail line to connect Jaisalmer-Barmer with Mundra and Kandla ports. This new rail line will prove to be very beneficial for the work of the ongoing refinery in Barmer and the development of the western region as per the MOU of the Central Government undertaking HPCL and the State Government.
Positive decisions should be taken on the establishment of MEMU Coach Factory
The Chief Minister said that 323 hectares of land has been allotted free of cost by the state government for the establishment of MEMU coach factory at Gulabpura (Bhilwara) situated on the Jaipur to Chittorgarh via Ajmer broad gauge railway route.
He urged that a positive decision should be taken by the Ministry of Railways to set up MEMU Coach Factory at Gulabpura.
