Jaipur: Four person thought to be members of a gang opened fire in Rajasthan today, killing two people—among them a notorious gangster—and injuring one other.
Four persons reportedly opened fire on feared gangster Raju Theth at the entrance to his home on Piprali Road in Sikar City around 9.30am, killing him, according to sources. The attackers have been identified, according to the police, and a statewide hunt is underway to find the offenders.
Tarachand Kadwasara, the second victim of the tragedy, was said to have been to the area to arrange for his daughter’s enrollment at a coaching facility. The shooting also injured his cousin.
There are numerous hostels and coaching facilities around the scene of the tragedy. There was also a hostel run by gangster Theth’s brother, according to sources.
A police official claimed that Theth, who was shot three times, was at odds with another group in the state’s Shekhawati district.

The four accused are seen shooting at Theth on a street and then fleeing the scene in multiple CCTV camera videos. One of the accused is seen firing into the air to frighten away witnesses and bystanders.
Theth was murdered as revenge for Anandpal Singh and Balbir Banuda, according to Rohit Godara, who identified himself as part of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and claimed responsibility of the crime on Facebook shortly after it occurred.
A gang conflict in the Bikaner jail resulted in the death of Banuda, a criminal who belonged to the Anandpal gang, in July 2014.
