Jaipur News: In a significant operation, the Food Safety Department in Jaipur’s Vishwakarma Industrial Area has seized a large consignment of substandard ghee. The crackdown targeted a trader operating under the brand name “Shri Saras” who was found selling poor-quality desi ghee. During the raid, officials confiscated 13,700 kilograms of adulterated ghee. The foul smell emanating from the ghee prompted the team to collect samples for further testing.

According to reports, the substandard ghee was about to be distributed in the city, posing a potential health risk to many consumers. The Food Safety Department’s team seized a total of 854 cartons of ghee from the factory. This ghee, sold under the “Shri Saras” brand, was emitting a strong odor.

Additional Commissioner Pankaj Ojha stated that this is the first time such a large quantity of substandard ghee has been seized in Jaipur. The seized ghee was reportedly brought from Daman and sold in the Shekhawati region, which includes Churu, Sikar, and Jhunjhunu, at approximately 350 rupees per liter.
The team has sent samples of the ghee for laboratory testing, and further actions are underway. Employees at the factory revealed that the ghee was transported there and distributed to Jaipur and nearby cities.
