Jaipur News: A state-wide protest has been organized by the Rajasthan University Teachers Association (RUTA) and various non-academic staff groups, scheduled for August 24. The protest aims to highlight concerns about the requirement to deposit the employer’s contribution amount as a condition for reverting to the old pension scheme.
All state universities in Rajasthan will remain closed on the specified day
In response to the protest, all state universities in Rajasthan will remain closed on the specified day. This collective action has led to a disruption in both administrative and teaching activities within the universities. Students have voiced their challenges in obtaining migration certificates, degrees, and facing delays in the admission process. Additionally, the protest has brought academic and extracurricular activities to a standstill.
The admission process encountered delays
The impact of the protest on students is evident, with many facing difficulties due to the ongoing demonstrations. The admission process encountered delays, and even successful students were unable to collect their marksheets, degrees, or migration certificates. The administration block has experienced significant closure.
One major issue raised by students is the absence of released timetables for exams or classes in the current academic year. Notably, the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020 at the university requires schedules for exams and classes to be provided at the beginning of the session. This facilitates students in selecting subjects under the choice-based credit system well in advance. However, due to the protest-related disruptions, these essential schedules have not been made available.
