Four members of a family, including a six-month-old baby, were killed and their bodies burnt in Churai village of Jodhpur in the early hours of Wednesday.
Police said the incident took place around 3 am when the family members were sleeping outside their house.
Initial investigation revealed that they were killed by slitting their throats with a sharp weapon, after which all were dragged to the courtyard of the house and set on fire.
Forensic team and police are investigating after reaching the spot.
Police said that the motive behind the crime is yet to be ascertained.
