Lok Sabha Election 2024: The Election Commission of India (ECI), led by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, has officially announced the schedule for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The elections for the 543 Lok Sabha seats are set to occur in seven phases starting from April 19, with the final counting of votes on June 4.

This significant announcement comes shortly after the induction of two new Election Commissioners, Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, following the unexpected resignation of Arun Goel last week and the retirement of Anup Chandra Pandey on February 14.
Rajasthan CM Expresses Confidence as Lok Sabha Election Dates Announced
In response to the election schedule, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma expressed optimism about the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) readiness and prospects in the state. Sharma stated, “The workers of BJP are fully prepared for the elections, and we are confident that the dedication of our workers combined with our development initiatives will secure the party’s victory in Rajasthan. We are aiming to win all 25 seats in the state.”
With the announcement of the election dates, the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) is now in effect, guiding the conduct of political parties, candidates, and the government. The MCC encompasses rules around speeches, announcements, and election manifestos to ensure fair and ethical campaigning as per the guidelines set by the ECI.
