There has been a stir in Haryana after the charred bodies of two Muslim men were found in a car. The charred bodies of Nasir and Junaid were found in a Mahindra Bolero SUV in Haryana’s Bhiwani district. According to the family’s complaint, Nasir (25) and Junaid (35) were abducted from Rajasthan’s Bharatpur district. According to the ongoing investigation in this matter, the Gau Rakshak group kept roaming in Haryana carrying the injured Nasir-Junaid for 15 hours.
Burnt bodies of Junaid and Nasir were found in Bhiwani, Haryana
Investigators with the Rajasthan Police have said that at least two cow vigilante groups roamed across Haryana with the injured Junaid and Nasir for over 15 hours on February 15, after their charred bodies were found the next morning. Significantly, Junaid and Nasir went missing from Bharatpur in Rajasthan on 15 February 2023 and their charred bodies were found a day later at Loharu in Bhiwani district of Haryana.

Speaking to media, a senior police officer said, “In our investigation so far, we have found that two groups of cow vigilantes were involved in the crime. He said, “two cow vigilante groups caught Junaid and Nasir on the morning of February 15 but they did not find any cow with them. He then thrashed both of them badly before entering Haryana. Within two hours of apprehending the two, they went to the Haryana Police to hand them over but the Haryana Police refused seeing the seriously injured Junaid and Nasir.”
The official further said, “From the morning of February 15, the cow vigilantes roamed Haryana for 16-17 hours till the bodies were burnt. The accused were driving a Gaurakshak Scorpio. Nasir and Junaid’s Bolero was also being run by cow vigilantes till midnight, after which their bodies were set ablaze along with the Bolero at Loharu in Haryana.

Police sources told that two groups, one from the Mewat region (which includes areas of Haryana and Rajasthan) and the other from Jind-Bhiwani-Karnal in Haryana, were involved in the killings of Junaid and Nasir. He said the police were probing the involvement of more such cow vigilante groups as part of the probe into the case registered on charges of abduction and murder.
According to the Rajasthan Police, apart from the nine accused whose role in the murder has been confirmed so far, the involvement of at least a dozen more suspects is being probed. Bharatpur IG Gaurav Srivastava told reporters that the Scorpio in which the cow vigilantes had kept the two victims was found in a cow shelter in Haryana Jind.
