Phool Mohammad Murder Case : Rajasthan court gives 30 people life in 2011

In the famous CI Phool Mohammad murder case of Sawai Madhopur district, today the SC/ST court of the district has sentenced 30 accused including the then Deputy Superintendent of Police to life imprisonment.

Along with this, a fine of 50-50 thousand rupees has also been imposed on all the 30 accused. The court, while hearing the case on November 16, convicted 30 accused. Also, 49 accused were acquitted. The CBI had filed a charge sheet in the court after investigating the matter.

CBI counsel Sridas Singh said, “the court had convicted 30 people, including the then Deputy Superintendent of Police, in the case. While sentencing on Friday, all the accused have been sentenced to life imprisonment and different monetary penalties in different sections.

Life imprisonment to these convicts

Those who were sentenced by the court include the then Deputy Superintendent of Police Mahendra Singh. The court including Mahendra Singh, Radheshyam Mali, Parmanand, Bablu, Prithviraj, Ramcharan, Chiranjilal, Sher Singh, Harji, Ramesh Meena, Kalu, Bajranga Khatik, Murari Meena, Chaturbhuj Meena, Banwari, Ramkaran, Hansraj, Shankar Mali, Banwari Lal Meena, Dharmendra Meena, Yogendra Nath, Brijesh Hanuman, Ramjilal, Makhan Singh, Rambharose Meena, MohanMali, Mukesh Mali, Shyamlal are included.

After the verdict pronounced by the court, all the 30 accused have been sent to jail amid tight police security.

Two minors are also involved in the case


The court, while hearing the case on Wednesday, November 16, had acquitted 49 accused considering them as blameless. Two minors are also involved in the case. And three accused are still absconding. While five accused have died during the pendency of the case.

Station Officer cum Police Inspector Phool Mohammad had gone to Surwal village on March 17, 2011. There a man had climbed on the water tank. He had committed suicide by jumping from a tank over alleged inaction on the part of the police in a murder case. After this, the angry mob targeted the police officer and pelted stones at him. At that time Phool Mohammad was sitting in the jeep. Police officer Phool Mohammad fainted in the jeep due to stone pelting. The mob set his car on fire. Due to this he was burnt alive. After the incident, the state government had given him the status of martyr and the investigation of the case was handed over to the CBI.

Even during the investigation, the CBI had considered Mahendra Singh Kalbelia guilty of the said murder case. According to the charge sheet of the CBI, Sanjay Bihari, history sheeter of Mantown police station, was the most important witness in proving the crime of former DSP Mahendra Singh Kalbelia in the said murder case. But he was murdered in Jaipur even before his testimony.
