Rajasthan: Ashok Gehlot Loyalists Who Held a Parallel Meeting Have Not Received a Clean Chit

Rajasthan: K C Venugopal, the general secretary of the Congress, claimed on Wednesday that the party had not exonerated the three Rajasthani unit leaders who had received notices for conducting a duplicate CLP meeting on September 25.
Before departing for Sawai Madhopur to join his party’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, Mr. Venugopal told reporters at the Jaipur airport that the matter was being looked into by the disciplinary committee.

On September 25, the Congress summoned a Congress Legislature Party (CLP) conference in Jaipur after Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot declared his intention to run for party president.

In a separate meeting at the home of state minister Shanti Dhariwal, some MLAs thought to be loyal to the chief minister submitted their resignations to the Speaker amid rumours that Congress politician Sachin Pilot may be named as Mr. Gehlot’s replacement.
