Rajasthan Assembly Election 2023: In a recent development, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has issued a challenge to senior BJP leader and former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje for a debate on the seven guarantees put forward by the ruling Congress party in the upcoming State Assembly election. Gehlot emphasized that these guarantees are the central issue in the 2023 Assembly election.
The challenge comes in response to Vasundhara Raje’s skepticism regarding the guarantees. She had stated that the ruling party cannot ensure its own survival, adding that the people of Rajasthan would not be deceived by false promises made by the Congress.
Gehlot announced initiatives, including annual grant
As part of these seven guarantees, Gehlot recently announced initiatives, including an annual grant of ₹10,000 for women leading households, the purchase of cow dung at ₹2 per kg, laptop computers for government college students, free English medium education, free insurance against natural disasters, LPG cylinders for one crore families, and the reintroduction of the Old Pension Scheme for government employees.
Gehlot affirmed the Congress’s commitment:
During the ‘Congress guarantee dialogues’ held in Deeg and Sapotra constituencies, Gehlot affirmed the Congress’s commitment to fulfilling its promises, highlighting their track record of delivering on past commitments and their dedication to placing the people at the core of their policies and programs.
This challenge and the dialogues coincided with the nomination filing of Congress candidates Vishvendra Singh in Deeg and Ramesh Chand Meena in Sapotra, both of whom are Cabinet Ministers in the Gehlot government.
