Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has said amid the ongoing tussle with Sachin Pilot that the media should not create a fight between the people. He told reporters on Monday that the Congress’s election campaign in the state would focus on the schemes and programs of his government. CM Gehlot expressed confidence of his government returning to power on the basis of the work done in the last five years.
Why did Sachin Pilot protest
Former Rajasthan Congress President Sachin Pilot had staged a one-day dharna against his own government at the martyr’s place in Jaipur on 11 April. During this, he alleged that the Gehlot government of the state has not taken any action against the corruption in the BJP government led by Vasundhara Raje. He said that in the 2018 assembly elections, Congress had sought votes from the public on this issue. But the CM has not given any response on this. In fact, at the time of the 2018 elections, Payal was the state president of the Congress.
Without naming anyone, Ashok Gehlot said that the media should not make people fight. Media should stick to truth and facts. Media persons should do their duty. It is in public interest. He said that I do not say that present false figures or give false praise to us, but I would say that the media should run on the basis of truth. He said that the media is under the pressure of the central government, but they should see the benefit of the public.
How will be the election campaign of Congress
Ashok Gehlot said that the campaign of Congress in the assembly elections will focus on the schemes of his government. He said that in elections Prime Minister and Amit Shah will come here and do big roadshows, spend money and do everything to win the elections, but we have decided that we will go to the public only on the basis of the works of the state government. CM said that we will seek votes on the basis of development works. Our campaign will revolve around this. He said that BJP leaders will also come to Rajasthan, they will speak a lot, but we will not pay attention to them. We will do our work.
Sachin Pilot again teased the old tone
On Sunday, Sachin Pilot once again raised the issue of scams in the Vasundhara government. He had said that I had observed a one-day fast on April 11 against the corruption that happened during the Vasundhara Raje government, but no action has been taken so far. He said that it has been two weeks since I went on fast. I again request that action should be taken in this matter. He said that our party is the party of Mahatma Gandhi. Putting the truth in front, fighting against corruption and injustice is the motto of our party.
