Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot kicked off the three-day IT Day celebrations by flagging off a people’s rally ‘Tech-Rush-Run’ at Jawaharlal Nehru Road here on Sunday evening.
Gehlot also inspected the Smart Village exhibition organized at Jawahar Kala Kendra and interacted with the participants.
Talking to reporters after the program, Gehlot said that Rajasthan is moving ahead in providing IT based services. He said that during his previous tenure, the government had earmarked three per cent of the budget for IT based services, which has yielded exciting results.
He said, “We are moving towards providing IT based governance. The youth of the state are excited by this environment, start-ups are also flourishing in the state.”
Under this three-day festival to be held in the state from March 19 to March 21, various programs will be held in Rajasthan College, Commerce College and Jawahar Kala Kendra.
A ‘Job Fair’ (Employment Fair) will also be organized in the premises of the Commerce College, in which more than 400 companies will participate and provide employment options to the youth. Candidates will be selected through on-the-spot interview. Around 20,000 youth are expected to get employment in the field of IT, BPO, Engineering, Telecom, Civil, Banking & Finance, Consulting, Retail and Electrical.
A 36-hour offline hackathon will be organized in Rajasthan College from March 19 to March 21, in which 3,000 participants will solve problems of many subjects as well as problems of daily life for the development of the state and the country.
In addition, an online hackathon will be organized during the fest with over one lakh participants
According to the official spokesperson, both the modes cover topics such as education, agriculture and food security, artificial intelligence, sustainability, financial inclusion and economic empowerment, smart cities and infrastructure, social impact and others.
The winner will be given Rs 25 lakh, while the second and third winners will be given Rs 20 lakh and Rs 15 lakh, respectively.
Under the function, a ‘Smart Village’ has been developed at Shilpgram of Jawahar Kala Kendra, in which all the technologies that meet the concept of Smart Village include rural area model, farm equipment, drones, sprinkler system, GIS, Watershed, Digital Transaction, E-Mitra, E-Mitra Plus machines have been displayed.
