Rajasthan Congress MLA Bhanwarlal Sharma Dies, Know About Him

Senior Congress leader and MLA from Sardashar in Churu district Pandit Bhanwarlal Sharma has passed away. Sharma breathed his last at SMS Hospital in Jaipur this morning. He was admitted to SMS Hospital on Saturday evening itself.

Sharma has always been recognized for his impeccable rhetoric throughout his 37-year career. Due to his association with the common man and openly speaking his point, he also had to face trouble many times. About eight years ago, Congress suspended him for calling Rahul Gandhi a clown.

Bhanwarlal Sharma was ill for the past several days. Earlier he was also admitted to Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon, he was discharged from there. He had many diseases including kidney. On Saturday, he was admitted to SMS Hospital after his health deteriorated, where he breathed his last today.

Born on 17 April 1945 in Jaitsisar village of Sardashahr, Bhanwarlal Sharma started his political career as Sarpanch in the 60s. After that he never looked back in politics. Sharma was a seven-time MLA from Sardarshahr. He won five consecutive terms from Sardarshahr from 8th to 12th Vidhan Sabha. Lost in the middle. He had been in the Janata Party before the Congress.

Bhanwarlal became an MLA for the first time in 1985. After this, in 1990, he also held positions like a cabinet minister in the Rajasthan government and deputy chief whip in the assembly.

Sardarshahr seat has fallen vacant after the death of Bhanwarlal Sharma. Now Congress has 107 MLAs left in the assembly. If the Sardarshahr seat is vacant, the Election Commission will now decide whether to hold a by-election here. There is a provision to hold a by-election within six months on the death of an MLA.

But if the term of the assembly is less than a year left, then by-elections would not have been held. The term of the assembly is more than one year, so the by-election is believed to be fixed here, however, the final decision will be taken by the Election Commission.

Bhanwarlal Sharma was always strong in politics and was holding power but he never left the desi style. The doors of Bhanwarlal Sharma, popularly known as Dada among the people of Sardarshahr, were always open to the public. Never used to let the person who came home go hungry, he kept it from beginning to end.

Sardar used to take special care of the people of the city who came for treatment at SMS Hospital in Jaipur. If any needy in the area did not have money for medicine, they used to make arrangements for it.
