In Rajasthan, a gang has been busted, which has stolen coal worth 800 crores. These people used to steal high quality imported coal during transportation from Gujarat port to northern states via Rajasthan. Police has arrested about 19 people including truck drivers in the case. He has disclosed this entire incident during interrogation.
Giving information, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) of Rajasthan Crime Branch, Dinesh MN said that this gang used to replace high-calorie coal imported from abroad with low-quality charcoal. The crime branch was working on an input that high calorific value coal is imported from Kandla and Gandhidham from Russia, Indonesia, America and other countries.
He told that coal is imported from Kandla and Gandhidham port of Gujarat. From there, coal trucks and laden vehicles used to reach private companies of other states via Jalore, Sirohi, Jodhpur, Bikaner and Barmer. Meanwhile, in connivance with the drivers, the accused used to stop the truck in a shed built on the side of the highway and replace coal worth at least two lakhs with a loading vehicle. Instead of this, the accused would fill low quality coal in it, so that the weight of the truck remains the same.
Coal worth 10 crores was being stolen everyday
According to the crime branch, coal imported from America and Russia worth about Rs 10 crore was being stolen daily from trucks carrying Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. Thirteen teams of crime branch raided about a dozen places in five districts of Jalore, Pali, Barmer, Bikaner and Jodhpur and detained 19 people, including the driver and cleaner of the truck, on Wednesday night.
