Rajasthan News: In a significant political development, Bhajan Lal Sharma, a first-time MLA from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), officially assumed the role of Rajasthan’s Chief Minister on Friday. The swearing-in ceremony took place at the historic Ramnivas Bag in Jaipur, where Governor Kalraj Mishra administered the oath. Joining Sharma were his deputies, BJP MLAs Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa.
High-Profile Attendees and Security Measures
The ceremony drew attention with the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, and chief ministers from various BJP-ruled states. Outgoing Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot was also in attendance. The historic Albert Hall witnessed extensive security arrangements and seating preparations for the noteworthy event.
Bhajan Lal Sharma’s Political Journey and Vision
Sharma’s elevation to the chief ministerial position followed his victory in the Sanganer assembly seat by a remarkable margin of over 48,000 votes. During the BJP legislature party meeting, Sharma was officially named the chief minister in the presence of central observers Rajnath Singh, Saroj Pandey, and Vinod Tawde.
Hailing from Bharatpur district, Sharma expressed his commitment to working towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for development in Rajasthan. He stated, “All our MLAs will work under the leadership of Modi ji to fulfill the aspirations that the people have from the BJP and take Rajasthan on the path of development.”
This move marks a generational shift for the BJP in key heartland states, including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh. The BJP’s decisive victory in the recent assembly polls secured 115 seats out of the 199 contested, while the ruling Congress party managed to secure only 69 seats in the 200-member state assembly.
