Under his leadership, Rajasthan aims to overcome electricity crises by ensuring an adequate supply of coal and advancing various energy projects.
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma’s Efforts to Strengthen the State’s Energy Sector
Recently, Chief Minister Sharma addressed a gathering, highlighting the state’s strides in energy development. He emphasized the importance of visionary decisions made by the Rajasthan government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, leading to imminent advancements in electricity production. He underscored the government’s commitment to fulfilling all energy-related needs in the state.

During the event, significant agreements worth ₹1.60 lakh crore were signed for various energy projects, including thermal and renewable energy initiatives, transmission infrastructure, expansion, and strengthening. Additionally, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was inked between Rajasthan’s three power corporations and six central enterprises, along with a power purchase agreement (PPA).
Chief Minister Sharma expressed confidence in the state government’s ability to execute these agreements promptly and efficiently, ensuring Rajasthan’s continued progress towards becoming a frontrunner in energy self-sufficiency. He highlighted the collaborative efforts undertaken by the state government and various stakeholders to achieve this vision.
Furthermore, Chief Minister Sharma revealed that discussions with the Union Minister of Power and the Union Minister of Coal have been fruitful in ensuring an adequate supply of coal, essential for Rajasthan’s energy requirements. This proactive approach reflects Rajasthan’s commitment to addressing its energy challenges and emerging as a leader in the energy sector.
