Rajasthan News: CM Gehlot proclaims state to be a ‘model’ for road development network

Rajasthan CM aspires to make Rajasthan a leading state by 2030.

Rajasthan News: The Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot has stated that Rajasthan is becoming a model state of the country by moving forward in the road system. On Saturday, CM Ashok Gehlot laid foundation for developmental works across 232 municipal bodies in Jaipur. The projects will cost around 1,528 crore rupees which will cover a total length of 2,642 kilometers.

At the event CM Gehlot said that the projects undertaken will be completed on time and no compromises will be made in the quality of projects. The CM issued instructions for the ministries involved in road development to ensure the timeline set for projects is sincerely followed through.

Leading state by 2030

Many regions of Rajasthan fall under arid and semi-arid classification of land. These regions are sparsely populated and are spread across vast tracts of sand dunes. As per the official census data of 2011, tribal and desert areas with more than 250 population and other areas with population exceeding 350 are also being covered with roads. The CM has said that Rajasthan will emerge as one of the leading states of country by 2030 and the government is fully committed to that vision. He also said that other than departmental workers public representatives and district adminstrative officials will also road development work that will be carried out.

‘Accident free’

CM Ashoke Gehlot has also announced that Shahjahanpur to Ajmer, Bar to Bilara (Jodhpur) and Sikar to Bikaner roads have been audited by experts for safety and have been termed as accident free. He also said that significant resources are being applied for prevention of road accidents. 1,548 black spots were found in major roads across the state and out of it 1,365 spots have been fixed.

CM Gehlot also announced establishment of Centre of excellence for road and building construction in Jaipur with a grant of Rs 55 crore.
