Rajasthan News: Nina Singh Becomes First Woman Chief of CISF

Nina Singh, a 1989-batch IPS officer of the Rajasthan cadre, has made history by becoming the first woman to lead the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). Currently serving as the Special DG of CISF, Singh’s appointment as the Director General marks a significant milestone. She has been associated with the CISF since 2021 and will continue in her role until her retirement on July 31 next year. Hailing from Bihar, Nina Singh holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Harvard University and had earlier become the first woman to attain the top police post in Rajasthan.

Distinguished Career and Achievements

Nina Singh’s illustrious career includes noteworthy achievements, such as being the first woman to hold the highest police position in Rajasthan. With her elevation as the Director General of CISF, she takes charge of a crucial role in overseeing security at Delhi Metro and airports nationwide. Her leadership role signifies a positive step towards gender diversity and empowerment in India’s law enforcement agencies.

New Appointments in Central Forces

In addition to Nina Singh’s historic appointment, Anish Dayal Singh, former head of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), has been named the Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). These appointments reflect a strategic reshuffling in key positions within India’s central security forces.
