Rajasthan News- In a bid to alleviate traffic congestion at key railway crossings in the city, the Rajasthan state government has announced plans to execute railway overbridge (ROB) and underpass (RUB) projects. This initiative aims to address the frequent traffic snarls caused by congested railway gates, providing smoother and faster commutes for residents.
Budget Announcement and Project Allocation
During the recent Budget session, Finance Minister Diya Kumari revealed plans for four such infrastructure projects at some of the city’s most congested crossings. The projects have been divided between the Public Works Department (PWD) and the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA), with each agency tasked with constructing two of the four projects.
Detailed Project Plans
- PWD Projects:
- Nadi ka Phatak: A four-lane railway overbridge (ROB) will be constructed to ease traffic at this busy crossing.
- Sitawali Phatak on Benar Road in Vidyadhar Nagar: An underpass (RUB) will be developed to ensure smooth passage for vehicles.
- JDA Projects:
- CBI Phatak in Jagatpura: A railway overbridge (ROB) will be constructed to reduce congestion.
- Saligrampura Phatak in Jagatpura: Another ROB will be built to facilitate better traffic flow.
Official Confirmation and Project Execution
Officials from both the Public Works Department (PWD) and the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) have confirmed the details and responsibilities of these projects. The aim is to ensure timely and efficient execution to provide immediate relief to the city’s traffic woes.
Anticipated Benefits
These projects are expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion at these critical railway crossings, improving the overall traffic situation in Jaipur. By addressing the bottlenecks at these points, the state government aims to enhance the daily commute for thousands of residents, contributing to better urban mobility and infrastructure development.
This move aligns with the government’s commitment to improving urban infrastructure and ensuring that the city’s growth is supported by robust and efficient transportation networks.
