Rajasthan News: Interest in psychology degrees has surged, leading to Rajasthan University receiving twice as many applications this year compared to previous years. According to Professor OP Sharma, Head of the Department of Psychology at Rajasthan University, the demand for psychology at bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD levels has always been high due to the subject’s multidisciplinary applicability.
Rajasthan University Sees Surge in Psychology Applications
The University offers a range of psychology courses, including BA/BSc, MA/MSc, and PhD programs. These courses cover theoretical frameworks that explore various aspects of human behavior, such as perceptions, motivations, expressions, and intelligence. Students also benefit from practical learning through laboratory experiments, testing, field studies, and diagnostic and formative assessments.
“Psychology is preferred by students and is considered interesting because of the field and research work involved, which allows them to explore and understand human behavior more deeply,” said Dr. Chandrani Sen, an associate professor of psychology at Rajasthan University.
The job prospects for psychology graduates are plentiful and always in demand. Graduates can pursue diplomas in counseling to become counselors or enter the human resources field in companies.
Experts attribute the growing interest in psychology to increased awareness and the reduced stigma surrounding mental health issues. The field of psychology is expanding rapidly as more people recognize the importance of mental health and seek professional guidance.
