In a shocking incident in Rajasthan’s Banswara district, a 50-year-old temple priest was shot and killed by unidentified assailants on Friday night. The assailants, who arrived on a two-wheeler, shot the priest in the chest in front of an adjacent temple to his house in Janamedi village. The culprits immediately fled the scene after the attack.

- Location: The incident occurred in Janamedi village, Banswara district, in front of a temple adjacent to the victim’s house.
- Modus Operandi: The assailants, riding a two-wheeler, engaged in a brief conversation with the priest before one of them pulled out a pistol and shot him in the chest.
- Escape: After the attack, the assailants fled the scene on their two-wheeler. The police are currently conducting an investigation to apprehend them.
- Eyewitnesses and CCTV Footage: Visuals from CCTV cameras near the temple captured the incident. Two individuals on a bike were seen in the footage, with one firing the fatal shot. Eyewitnesses reported the presence of an additional person who fled with the assailants after the incident.
The local police, led by Station House Officer Dileep Singh, assured that a thorough investigation is underway, and efforts are being made to apprehend the culprits promptly. The motive behind the attack remains unclear at this stage of the investigation.
