Rajasthan News: Visitors planning to tour Ranthambore National Park should note the recent changes in the park’s schedule. A weekly closure has been declared, meaning tourists must check the park’s status before planning their visit. This announcement comes from the office of the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Wildlife Warden, Jaipur.
Weekly Holiday Declared
According to information from the Forest Department, about a year ago, the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) declared a weekly holiday for all tiger reserves across the country. Following this directive, the Forest Department initially decided to close tourism activities in Ranthambore on Wednesdays, declaring a weekly holiday. However, after facing opposition, the decision was revised, and now zones 1 to 5 of Ranthambore will be closed on Tuesdays, while zones 6 to 10 will be closed on Wednesdays. Recently, the Forest Department has again amended these orders.
Monsoon Season Closures
As per the new orders, zones 1 to 5 of Ranthambore will be closed on Wednesdays, and zones 6 to 10 will be closed on Tuesdays. During these days, all tourism activities will be completely halted. Typically, during the monsoon season from July to September, tourism activities in the main zones 1 to 5 are already suspended. Previously, zones 1 to 5 were closed on Tuesdays, but due to the significant influx of devotees to the Trinetra Ganesh Temple located in this zone on Wednesdays, traffic jams were common, causing inconvenience to tourists. To address this issue, the Forest Department has now issued a new order, declaring zones 1 to 5 closed on Wednesdays and zones 6 to 10 closed on Tuesdays.
This updated schedule aims to balance conservation efforts with the influx of tourists and pilgrims, ensuring both wildlife protection and a smoother visitor experience. Tourists are advised to plan their visits accordingly to avoid any inconvenience.
