World’s third and India’s second largest cricket stadium is going to be built in Jaipur. An MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) will be signed between Rajasthan Cricket Academy (RCA) and private company Hindustan Zinc regarding this.
On the occasion of Invest Rajasthan Summit-2022 organized by the state government, Anil Agarwal (Chairman Vedanta Group) had announced cooperation in the International Cricket Stadium being constructed by RCA.
In the MoU signing ceremony to be organized on the occasion of Rajasthan Day at RCA, Dr CP Joshi (Chairman Rajasthan Legislative Assembly and Chief Patron RCA), Vaibhav Gehlot (Chairman Rajasthan Cricket Association) will be present. As per the decision made by RCA, the stadium will be named as ‘Anil Agarwal International Cricket Stadium-Jaipur’ after signing the MoU.
Stadium being built on 100 acres
The state government, under the chairmanship of Rajasthan Cricket President Vaibhav Gehlot, has allotted 100 acres of land to RCA at Delhi Road, Jaipur. The stadium is being constructed on it. The International Cricket Stadium being built by the Rajasthan Cricket Association in Jaipur will have a capacity of 75,000 spectators. After the completion of this grand stadium, it will become the world’s third and India’s second largest cricket stadium, in which spectators will be able to enjoy the cricket match.
Construction will be done in 2 phases
The construction work of this grand cricket stadium being built in Jaipur will be done in 2 phases. The work of the first phase is under construction, in which a world class stadium with a capacity of 40,000 spectators will be constructed. The total cost of making it will be Rs 400 crore, out of which Rs 300 crore will be given by a private company (Hindustan Zinc Limited) and the remaining amount of Rs 100 crore will be given by RCA.
