On the lines of Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme and NREGA, now the folk artists of the state will get an opportunity to perform for 100 days under the Chief Minister’s Folk Artist Promotion Scheme. With this, the way of employment will also open for folk artists by the performance of folk arts. Rajasthan Sangeet Natak Akademi, Jodhpur has been made the nodal agency for the operation of the scheme. Soon a web portal will be started for online registration of folk artists.
Taking initiative to give protection to folk art and folk artists, the state government has found a way to provide 100 days of assured employment. Under the Chief Minister’s Folk Artist Promotion Scheme, opportunities are being made available to the folk artists of the state. Regarding this, Arts and Literature Minister Dr. BD Kalla said that the Congress government respects folk art. In such a situation, folk artists will be ensured an opportunity to perform art for 100 days in local areas. This scheme is the dream project of CM Ashok Gehlot.
According to the intention of the Chief Minister, folk artists will be given employment through the performance of folk arts for 100 days per family every year. With this, folk artists will be able to take care of their families. Along with this, the art of folk artists will be displayed among the general public. This will also open avenues of work for artists. Minister BD Kalla said that these artists will be given opportunities to perform in state programs, festivals, fairs, festivals, celebrations, school-college programs.
A web portal will be started soon for online registration of folk artists. In which all the folk artists of the state will be able to register through their Aadhaar card. Under the scheme, incentive cards will also be given to folk artists. Which will be the primary document of the artists. This card will identify the concerned artist. After applying, the folk artist will be informed by sending messages on mobile and mail for works like registration, allocation of work, payment.
