Rajasthan Weather Update: The active Southwest Monsoon is set to bring heavy to very heavy rainfall to isolated locations in Arunachal Pradesh, while a cyclonic circulation over southeast Uttar Pradesh and another over northeast Rajasthan and their neighboring areas are expected to intensify the weather conditions. The state of Rajasthan, in particular, is on high alert as it braces for potential flooding and severe weather disruptions.
Rajasthan and Neighboring Regions on Alert
The cyclonic circulation over northeast Rajasthan, combined with the active monsoon, is likely to cause significant rainfall across the state. Isolated places in Rajasthan, as well as Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh, are expected to experience heavy rainfall in the coming days. Authorities in Rajasthan have been advised to prepare for potential flash floods and landslides, particularly in vulnerable areas.
Widespread Rainfall Across the Country
In addition to Rajasthan, the monsoon is also expected to impact the Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Bihar, Odisha, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. The feeble off-shore trough at mean sea level, running along the South Gujarat to North Kerala coasts, is expected to contribute to widespread rainfall across these regions.
Fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, is forecasted for Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Konkan & Goa, and the Gujarat region throughout the week. East Madhya Pradesh and Madhya Maharashtra are likely to experience heavy rainfall on August 9th and 10th.
Southern and Eastern India to Experience Persistent Rainfall
Scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall is anticipated over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Kerala & Mahe, Lakshadweep, and Karnataka throughout the week. Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Telangana, and Rayalaseema can also expect isolated to scattered rainfall. Heavy rainfall is expected at isolated locations in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal on August 11th and 12th, prompting local authorities to stay vigilant.
As the monsoon continues to influence weather patterns across India, residents in affected areas, particularly in Rajasthan, are urged to stay updated on weather advisories and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
