Schools Closed Due To Winter In These States

The havoc of cold continues in North India. In view of the increasing fog and falling temperature in many other states including the capital Delhi, it has been announced to close the schools. In some states, the timing of schools has also been changed. Let us know in which areas schools have been closed due to winter vacation.

Uttar Pradesh

Schools are closed in most of the states of UP due to winter vacations. Schools from classes 1 to 8 in Varanasi have been closed till January 04. Schools of class 12th in Sitapur will also remain closed till January 04. Apart from this, changes have been made in the timing of schools in Lucknow. For classes 1 to 8, till January 10, the timing of schools has been changed from 10 am to 2 pm. Whereas in Gorakhpur, schools up to class 8th have been closed due to cold wave on January 02 and 03.

A state in Eastern India


In view of the severe cold in the state of Bihar, winter vacation has been announced in the schools. Due to severe cold in Patna, schools up to class 8th have been closed till January 07. Earlier the schools were closed till December 31, which has now been extended further. The administration has taken this decision keeping in mind the health of the school children.

Punjab

The Punjab government has also extended the winter vacation and declared holiday till January 08 in all government and private schools. The School Education Minister told that the schools will now reopen from January 09.

Rajasthan

The state of Rajasthan is also facing severe cold. The state administration has announced winter vacation in schools till January 05. The administration also says that keeping in mind the cold wave, the holidays can be extended even further. Schools in the state will now open on 06 January.

Haryana

Winter vacation has started in Haryana from January 01 itself. Due to the cold, an order has been issued to keep schools up to class 8th closed till January 15. However, in view of the board examinations, classes from 9th to 12th will be continued, whose time will be from 10 am. Schools will open from January 16 for small classes.
