Ashok Gehlot: The Chief Minister’s Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme is a health insurance programme launched by the Rajasthan government. The government has initiated this programme for the common people, including the impoverished, in light of the escalating medical costs. Consequently, thousands of people are benefiting.
A Lifeline for 1.35 Crore Rajasthan Families
According to the Gehlot government, the Chief Minister’s Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme currently has 1 crore 35 lakh families linked to it (so far, 1 crore 35 lakh families have joined the Chief Minister Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme), and its sole goal is to make healthcare accessible and affordable for everyone. Additionally, 15 lakh patients have received cashless treatment thus far through this programme. Let me inform you that the Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme was put into place by the Rajasthani government in 2021. Initially, this programme offered each family an annual cashless/free treatment allowance of up to Rs 5 lakh. Following that, it was raised to Rs. 10 lakh in the fiscal year 2022–2023 by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. Following this, it has been declared that this sum will be increased to Rs 25 lakh for 2023–2024 (currently free treatment up to Rs 25 lakh).
Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme for Rajasthan Families
Additionally, each Chiranjeevi family now receives accident insurance of Rs. 10 lakh. Each Rajasthani family would receive cashless treatment coverage of up to Rs. 25 lakhs through the Chief Minister Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme, according to a government notification. Serious illnesses like Black Fungus, Cancer, Paralysis, Heart Surgery, Neuro Surgery, Organ Transplant, and Kovid-19 can also be treated for beneficiaries under this programme. All government hospitals in Rajasthan offer free OPD and IPD services as part of the Chief Minister Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme. Under this, even pricey medications are provided without charge. For one policy year, the Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme makes a provision of Rs. 25 lakhs. When the following year begins, it resets to zero and changes to 25 lakhs. Actually, this service offered by the Rajasthani government is a form of health insurance. You can apply for the Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana online on your own, and you can do it through e-Mitra as well. Under this scheme, the facility of medical test coverage and free treatment is provided by the government. Families living below the poverty line in Rajasthan get its benefits. To apply under this scheme, it is mandatory to have Jan Aadhaar number or Jan Aadhaar registration receipt. If you do not have Jan Aadhaar card then you will have to get Jan Aadhaar enrollment done first to get the benefit of this scheme.
