Ranchi News: Alarming cases of dengue and chikungunya has created a state of panic in the city as most of the hospitals are witnessing spike in both the infections everyday. 30 fresh cases of dengue have come to light whereas five people have died due to the disease. Ranchi reported over 100 cases of dengue patients , on the other hand no death has been reported from chikungunya so far. Hospitals are receiving suspected cases of dengue and chikungunya on a regular basis. Over 124 suspected cases of Chikungunya were registered in the city out of which 42 patients were found positive from the disease. Total 156 cases of chikungunya came to light since January.
Maximum Dengue Cases reported from Jamshedpur
Dengue is slowly spreading in all parts of the city with hospitals registering many suspected cases everyday. Maximum cases reported from Singhbhum. 5 people who died due to dengue belonged to Jamshedpur. According to the health officials, they have been collecting samples of the suspected patients from all parts of the city.
Health Officials advice precautionary measures for all citizens:
Symptoms of Dengue are–
- Headache
- Bone and Joints Pain
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Swollen Glands
- Rashes
Precautions to prevent Dengue:
- Wear Long sleeve shirts
- Do not let mosquitoes inside your house
- Avoid keeping stagnant water around your residence
Symptoms of Chikungunya are –
- Fever
- Joint Pain
- Muscle Pain and Swelling
Precautions to prevent Chikungunya:
- Protect yourself from Mosquito bites
- Do not let mosquitoes enter inside your house
- Use insect Repellent.
As soon as you feel any of the symptoms, get yourself tested and follow the Physician’s advice till you get better.
