Ranchi News: People living in over 24 districts of the city are deprived of approaching any form of Medical help due to the strike declared by the Ambulance staff. The drivers of the ambulances have stopped working because they were not being paid for the last five months. Over 108 ambulances are standing on the road and their drivers have refused to go back to work until their dues are cleared. One of ambulance drivers said that we have been working sincerely but it is not being recognized.
‘We’ll only resume work if we get our dues’
The drivers go on to say that how can one survive without money, we continued working for so long, but the agencies are not cooperating with us. We won’t come back to work until we get paid. Many patients were denied ambulance services due to the strike by the drivers. However the authorities are blaming each other for not paying the drivers dues on time.
Authorities indulge in Blame Game
Amid these ongoing tussle between the authorities and the management about the pending dues of the ambulance drivers, it is the common man and the starved drivers who are suffering. The state head of the Healthcare agency said , we have given the one month salary but they are demanding salaries for May, June and July before even getting back to work, how come that’s possible.
