Ranchi News: Railways announced a new Ranchi-New Giridih intercity express via Muri, Barkakana, Hazaribag, Koderma, and Dhanwar beginning on September 12. This follows the opening of the Vande Bharat Express between Ranchi and Patna.
The officiating public relation officer Dhanbad division, of the East Central Railway, Pushkar Raj, said, “The Ranchi-New Giridih intercity express will be launched on September 12 via Muri, Barkakana, Hazaribag, Koderma and Dhanwar.” TNN

Sadar MLA Manish Jaiswal has given his reaction after the notification issued by the Railways and he told that it is a very good initiative. Although Vande Bharat train used to go from Hazaribagh to Ranchi. But due to its high fare, it was going beyond the reach of the common people. But the arrival of Intercity Express will provide a lot of convenience to the people.
Soon trains will start for metropolitan cities also
Along with this, he has also expressed the hope that soon trains will start running from here to the metros as well. However, the coming year 2024 is an election year and it is expected that in the election year, Hazaribagh will get trains for metros as well.
